Introducing the Upper Kalangagad Hydroelectric Project, nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Sunkuda and Khiratadi VDCs in Nepal’s picturesque Bajhang district. Since its inception in 2009 under the stewardship of Sanigad Hydro Limited, this endeavor has been dedicated to harnessing the power of renewable hydro energy to meet the nation’s burgeoning needs. Located along the right bank of the Kalanga River in the Seti zone of the Far-Western Region, the project leverages the river’s flow, partly sustained by snowmelt, making a significant contribution to Nepal’s sustainable energy landscape.
We advocate for the responsible and sustainable development operation of all new hydropower projects.
